Whether you're soaking up the sun while playing catch, swimming in the ocean or enjoying an early morning jog along the shore, Ocracoke Island's pristine beach can be fun and rewarding for both pets and their owners.

Ocracoke Island Beaches

All beaches on Ocracoke are part of the National Park Service, Cape Hatteras National Seashore. Pets are allowed on the beach year-round. However, they must be restrained on a six foot leash, crated, caged or otherwise restrained. Pets are prohibited from designated swimming areas. However, this leaves miles of Ocracoke beaches that you can enjoy with your pet. Guide dogs for the visually impaired are permitted to remain with their owners at all times.
